She was in charge of driving critical operational functions and overall office management duties.
She was also in charge of the Executive’s Diary and scheduled meetings for the President.
In addition, she supervised trained, evaluated and motivated staff. Atong was successful in streamlining internal processes and scheduling procedures.
Atong was also in charge of taking notes and compiling minutes of meetings between the President of the Republic, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit and other Heads of States and Government, foreign dignitaries as well with senior government officials in the Government of the Republic of South Sudan.
She also played an integral role as part of Executive Secretariat, which coordinates, and follow up communication, policies and agenda of the Government from the Office of the President to other government ministries, agencies and departments.
She oversaw and coordinated the organization’s functions that included M&E, Finance, HR and Programmes functions
She was a strong advocate of gender equality and empowerment of people living with disabilities. She was able to secure funding from UN WOMEN, AGRA, the Match International Women’s Fund, Save the Children, UNFAO, UNICAFE, CARE INTERNATIONAL and the Canadian Embassy.
As Country Director, she demonstrated her multitasking skills by doubling up as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DA-Global Security Services Company Limited. As CEO, she supervised strategic planning, made major corporate decisions and offered leadership in financial management and operations. Her
Gold Orchid Events is one of the largest events management companies in South Sudan providing expertise in the management of corporate events such as launch of products, government conferences and summits as well as private occasions and wedding events. Gold Orchid Events provide full event planning and management
Currently, Atong is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Triple A Group (Triple A Services & Petroleum and Triple A Security Services Ltd).
She is the first and only female Founder and CEO of Triple A Services & Petroleum; a private oil and gas company based in South Sudan specializing in petroleum products, gas, lubricants as well as oilfield services (both upstream and downstream) and logistics. She has employed more 100 people; about 40 percent of workforce are women.
Atong has been providing financial support and mentorship to young aspiring businesswomen in South Sudan hence making impact in their lives and their families. Through her Foundation, Atong has also provided scholarship, free sanitary towels to young girls in schools across South Sudan.
In addition to her fulltime positions, Atong was involved in Research and Consultancy including participation as Board Member of Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism, Women Peace and Security Advisor, Women leadership and access to justice charter at the grassroots, among others.
Outside the office, Atong has been committed to education and training.
